Because a travelling wave antenna is terminated by a resistance matching
its characteristic impedance, no standing wave is present. The lack of a
standing wave means that the length of a travelling wave antenna need bear
no relationship to the wavelength of the signal being transmitted or
received.
     Travelling wave antennas are commonly used in the HF band.
     Travelling wave antennas that are commonly used include the inverted
     V antenna, the delta antenna and the rhombic antenna.
