LaserBit Communications Corp. was established in 1999 taking over the ten years development activities of the predecessor - Crown Tech Ltd. - for the area of telecommunications. The formation of the new company was prompted by a significant increase in sales volume and considering market trends could be expected to rise even further - worldwide.

LaserBit Communications Corp. has been developed and continuously developing, manufacturing and marketing wireless, free-space laser-based voice, data and video transmission systems and telecommunication equipment for optical networks (E1/T1, E2/T2, E3/T3 copper to fiber converters and multiplexers). 

The British-American-Hungarian joint venture was founded by the US backed high-tech venture capital fund (HITF) and two innovators, combining the traditional British technology and Hungarian creativity. 

The second round investment was closed at end of 2000, with the value of a $6 million financing from international investors Intel Capital, Sandler Capital and Technologies Holding.
